The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Director to join our large friendly team here at Summerhill Veterinary Group, South Wales


As a Clinical Director you will be responsible for coaching and developing our team, contributing to the strategic direction of the practice, and developing the breadth and quality of services on offer.

You will play a crucial role in steering the business towards growth and excellence together with our present Clinical Director and Senior Management team.

You will work with the support and guidance of our Area Director.


The rota will include working 4-5 days per week however we can offer flexible working patterns that flex with you and your lifestyle.

Whether you are looking to flex your rota hours to balance the school holidays, fix to navigate the school runs or just looking to strike that balance between home and work life.

We can offer flexibility that actually works for you.

The salary will be up to £75,000 depending on experience.

About Us

The Summerhill Group is very varied and diverse with many opportunities for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual.

The main site in Newport is a busy hub with typically 5-6 Vets working on any one day and is well equipped with the most advanced equipment including endoscopy, surgical/orthopaedic and dental equipment, and the latest diagnostic imaging and cardiology equipment.

The other clinics are all self-sufficient and are usually 1 or 2 Vet sites.

We have a wide range of skills in the group, including certificate holders in surgery, medicine, diagnostic imaging, cardiology, and feline medicine, and like to share and assist in the development of our team members.


The cities of Bristol, Newport and Cardiff are all very close to our clinics, along with the natural beauty spots of the Brecon Beacons, the Forest of Dean, and the beautiful South Wales coastline.

So, there are many places you could base yourself.

Applicant Requirements

You will have extensive experience in small animal veterinary medicine and be confident in handling most situations. You will be a member of the RCVS.

Ideally, you would have some advanced qualifications or interests but more importantly, you will be keen on leading and building a team of fantastic staff to be the best that they can be.
