We're looking for a Senior Corporate Communications Manager to join our fabulous team and Grow with Gatwick.


What is the role?


This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Corporate Communications Manager to work alongside the Head of Communications, to develop and deliver Gatwick's corporate communications strategy.


As we build our team, we're looking for someone who will play an integral role in aligning media, digital and internal communications, to ensure we're best protecting and defending our reputation.


You'll be leading on things like sustainability, financial results, and policy and advocacy, with plenty of opportunity to lead, and get involved in delivering world class comms.

And you'll also need to be skilled at being able to drop everything and dealwith issues and crisis as needed.


As Senior Corporate Communications Manager you'll have direct line management responsibility for two people, and you'll have a key role in helping to coach and develop the wider team.


What will you do?

  • Lead on campaigns to promote the Gatwick 'story,' which underpin Gatwick's business objectives through internal, media and digital channels.
  • Create and develop close working relationships with key journalists relevant to the corporate agenda.
  • Build/ maintain relationships with airport stakeholders to ensure consistent, timely and joined up activity.
  • Coach our team to enhance storytelling and content writing skills.
  • Support on media engagement and social media profiling for Executives and the Senior Leadership Team.

Do you have what we're looking for?

  • Strong stakeholder management experience and be adept at advising senior leadership.
  • Thorough understanding of the diverse and evolving mix of communications channels with the ability to deliver integrated insightdriven communication plans across multiple channels.
  • Experience in corporate communications specifically financial results, ESG and policy and advocacy.
  • Experience and understanding of the UK media, across local, national, and digital.
  • Experience of utilising social media channels to leverage campaigns and reach key stakeholders, including corporate stakeholders, politicians, key decision makers and passengers.
  • Full understanding of internal communications and the importance of communicating effectively with colleagues.
  • Results based approach to communications.
  • Proven experience of leading and influencing team members.
  • Proven experience of communications in a fastpaced and challenging regulatory or politically sensitive environment.
  • Crisis media handling ability to think on your feet and act under pressure.
  • First class communications skills, with ability to handle and translate complex and technical information and issues.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills
