About Our Client:
Our client based in Cheam, near Sutton are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant that has ideally used the Xero system although not completely essential.
As the Finance Assistant (Xero) the duties are as follows, however you don't need experience in all of these areas and training will be given.
The Finance Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting activities, and ensuring the smooth operation of our finance department.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and updating financial systems regularly
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice processing, payments, and customer/vendor account reconciliations
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
- Reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial documents
- Assisting with monthend and yearend closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Monitoring and analysing financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns and other statutory filings as required
- Utilizing software for documentation and communication purposes
- Posting payroll journals and ensuring accurate recording of payrollrelated transactions
- Demonstrating a strong understanding of debits and credits in financial transactions
- Supporting the Head of Finance in financial analysis and forecasting activities
- Collaborating with other departments to gather financial information and ensure accuracy in reporting
The Successful Applicant:
- Varied accounting experience in a similar role desirable, Small to Medium size business background probably better suited
- Experience using the Xero software is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of financial processes, principles, and procedures, with a focus on accounts payable and receivable
- Knowledge of Debits and Credits Desirable
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new systems and software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in numerical data
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proactive attitude, with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities
- Strong organisational and time management skills
What's on Offer:
Salary £28,000 - £35,000
25 days holiday + 1 day for your birthday and 8 days bank holiday
