We have an exciting opportunity for a driver to join our team at our branch in Purfleet.


What does the job involve?


As a driver you will provide a safe, reliable, effective delivery and collection service to our customers, carrying out deliveries and collections in a professional, safe manner.

You will be the face of the company and will need to maintain the highest levels of safety, appearance and professionalism striving to achieve exceptional customer satisfaction.


The role involves keeping accurate records of deliveries and collections and the use of company IT technology devices and software, it will also require the ability to undertake heavy lifting and the use of vehicle tail lifts and in vehicle technology and safety features.


You would need to maintain a safe and responsible attitude towards your work and ensure you adhere to the traffic laws and Highway Code at all times, you will also demonstrate exceptional customer service in all aspects of the working day, also maintaining product knowledge with the ability to competently hand over equipment to customers.


Overall, your main duties will be to:

  • Carry out deliveries and collections to our customers and branches in a professional manner, always representing the quality and professionalism of the company, whether you're on the road with a customer or at a branch.
  • Provide a customer service, a lot of our customers only ever see our drivers as the face of the company and it's important you embrace this in your role and are always seen to be providing quality and professionalism.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks ensuring any defects found are reported using our portal system and ensure the vehicle is always at it best.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of your and your colleagues' vehicles and if you are back the branch be able to assist customers with loading and unloading.
  • Provide support in other activities within the branch.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence (up to 3 points may be considered)
  • An excellent knowledge of London and surrounding counties
  • Experience of driving a commercial vehicle (3.5t Drop side).
  • Experience of lifting equipment preferable but not essential
  • A team player attitude and have excellent time keeping
  • The ability to drive in the city of London daily

Good physical fitness and be able to handle heavy equipment:

  • The ability to work overtime
  • Good computer skills being able to take online training courses.
  • Good, clear communication skills

Experience:


  • Light Commercial Vehicle driver: 2 years
  • Delivery driving: 2 years
  • Aged 25 and over (Due to insurance requirements)
  • Delivering goods in and around London
  • Knowledge of the London area is essential

Hours:


  • 42.5hr per week


  • Mon

  • Fri 07.30am to 5.00pm
