Job Description:


Legal and General's Group function are looking to hire a new Head of Service Protection to manage an existing team through the design, implementation, running and maintenance of solutions that enable the business to be safe, resilient, and recoverable both in the immediate and future terms in the context of service.


This position would see you responsible for core functions which include: driving the resilience we need into our solution so that we can survive incidents and minimise impact, protecting and recovering our core products and services in the event of a cyber-attack, delivering recoverable options and a solution of last resort, and building solutions that enable us to recover in the event of a disaster including but not limited to cyber-attack, natural disaster, catastrophic failure, or malicious attack.


What you'll be doing:

  • Service Design creating and implementing service protection models and roadmaps that deliver the appropriate solutions to the business
  • Governance designing a framework of governance for solution decisions across the group or via existing governance boards
  • Community building a strong community for collaboration across the Group, building best practice and capability within the protection space to ensure this is part of L&G's DNA
  • Strategic Analysis, Advice and Innovation supporting innovation, advising on strategic IT decisions, technology choices and the assessment of investment cases for technology to ensure these take account
  • People Development developing and enhancing the talent profile for IT service and operations. Ensuring appropriate resourcing plans so that relevant organisational and people capability and succession plans are in place and managed efficiently and building new capabilities in new technologies
  • People Leadership taking the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees and third parties ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group's policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance

Qualifications:


  • In order to succeed in this role, you will have a strong IT Service design and architecture background including Digital, with indepth understanding of associated technologies
  • You are an ITIL practitioner
  • Disaster management and recovery methodologies and knowledge of service design tools and practices are key for this role
  • You're confident managing direct, matrixed and commercial resources as well as internal business partners and supplier relationships at a senior level in a global business
  • Broad experience across IT systems and products with a deep technical operations background.
  • You're comfortable making complex technical decisions and working with large scale IT outsourcing
  • Experience with design of disaster recovery and cyberattack strategies and runbooks
  • Designing and running, simulation events with participation from all business levels up to and including cseries
  • Proven leadership ability is very important, with an emphasis on collaboration and the ability to drive direction
