Finance Opportunities - Registration of Interest

Roles in London and Cheltenham

MI5 keeps the country safe from serious threats like terrorism and attempts by states to harm the UK, its people and way of life.

We carry out investigations by obtaining, analysing and assessing intelligence, and then work with a range of partners, including MI6 and GCHQ to disrupt these threats.

Through our protective security arm, we provide advice and guidance to government, businesses and other organisations about how to keep themselves safe.

A role in MI5 means you'll do unique and challenging work in a supportive and encouraging environment, making a real difference to UK national security.

Finance forms an integral part of keeping the UK safe.

We now have an opportunity available to become a Trainee Finance Officer, at different locations for individuals who are keen to make a positive impact.

Inclusion is at the heart of our mission, and there's no one 'type' of person we recruit.

You'll join a vital business function where you'll combine your passion for finance with your talent for numbers and ability to work collaboratively, professionally and innovatively.

In doing so, you'll add value where it matters most and help us protect our national security.

Trainee Finance Officer

As an individual with a passion for figures and problem solving, you will have a strong desire to learn new skills and develop a financial career.

You'll play a key role in supporting teams to deliver organisation strategies to ensure public money is spent efficiently and effectively, in addition to studying towards your Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

No matter your experience, background, or what stage of your career you're at, you'll receive plenty of support right from day one.

We strongly believe in investing in our people and provide clear, aspirational career pathways.

You will begin studying towards your AAT level 4 qualification, and you'll be assigned a buddy as well as a line manager to provide you with plenty of guidance - and gain access to internal communities, support networks and mentors.

So you'll quickly settle in and build a rewarding career at the heart of national security.

Due to the sensitive nature of this work, you'll be office-based full-time. However, where possible, we offer flexibility around your start and finish times with the use of flexi.
