_ About the Role_


You will work with and support the Principal in key school leadership and management areas to secure and sustain excellence in the quality of education and consistently achieve high standards in pupil outcomes.

The role has particular responsibility for strategic lead in the development of behaviour, attendance and pastoral provision.

Main Responsibilities Under the overall direction of the Principal:

  • Lead the Inclusion Team and teaching assistants supporting pupils with additional needs
  • In being responsible, alongside the SENDCO for SEND and other identified minority groups (e.g. LAC etc)
  • Coordinate in liaison with the Principal and the Leadership Team, the most appropriate and effective intervention programmes in response to and in consultation with class teachers to ensure all pupils, whether targeted or within identified groups, can learn and progress at their best
  • Work with governors, parents and a multitude of multiagency professionals in supporting the wellbeing and effective learning of SEN and identified groups of children

_ Who we are looking for_

  • Qualified teacher status
  • Evidence of sustained participation in INSET/CPD
  • Experience of dealing with complex behaviours either as class teacher or as a leader
  • Ability to teach across the primary age range
  • Demonstrable evidence of high standards of class teaching

It would be desirable to have:

  • Experience of implementing strategies to promote inclusion
  • Experience of working with children from a variety of backgrounds and/ or vulnerable groups of pupils
  • Awareness of accelerated learning/intervention/monitoring programmes e.g. BSquared
  • An indepth knowledge and understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Recent experience of an OFSTED Inspection and its follow up
