THE ROLE:


This Finance Department looks after eight statutory entities, which includes an education company, which is registered with the Office for Students; a theatre and a recording studio.

The range of work covered by the department is broad and covers all elements of finance as well as company secretarial duties, contracts and insurance.


Reporting into the Executive Chairman, the Head of Finance will have overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of the Group, which comprise of an education provider (ACM), a theatre and a recording studio.

As Head of Finance, you will play an important role in shaping the financial strategy for the group and driving financial performance.

You will be instrumental in reviewing current processes and controls and identifying improvements to enhance efficiencies across the business.

As a result, the work will be very varied and hands on.

The finance team work closely with the business to ensure full understanding of the ever-changing landscape to enable relevant and reliable forecasting and scenario modelling to support business decision making.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • To take overall responsibility for the Group's finance function, including the leadership and development of the finance team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and commentary in compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
  • Work with the executive team to produce the annual group integrated budget.
  • Manage the monthly forecast process and scenario analysis.
  • Financial modelling of new business initiatives.
  • Monthly creation of an internal management pack, created in line with members of the Csuit team.
  • Oversee the year end and audit process including the production of consolidated accounts for the group, and individual accounts for the Office for Students registered entity.
  • Ensure HMRC reporting for VAT and corporation tax is accurate and timely delivered.
  • Manage the finance related Office for Students requirements.
  • Overseeing transactions processing (purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll) and student finance including credit control.
  • Cashflow management.
  • Ensure accounting system is maintained to meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee maintenance of contract register and review of new contracts.
  • Responsible for Company Secretarial and insurance.
  • Maintain and build a number of strategic relationships.
  • Support Executive Chairman and executives in ad hoc analysis and tasks.
