Building a sustainable tomorrow


We have an exciting opportunity for a Environmental Sustainability Senior Advisor (carbon specialist) to lead on driving carbon reduction initiatives on the CDF Environment Agency Framework and assisting with the monitoring and managing of carbon reduction commitments on EA Framework projects.

You will be based from our Leeds office with occasional site visits to our projects within the North.

Your mission
As Environmental Sustainability Senior Advisor (carbon specialist).

you will be responsible for the following:

  • The support in delivering carbon reduction initiatives, in leading sustainable development and the management of carbon reporting on the Environment Agency's CDF Framework
  • Help support and deliver the North of England OP targets
  • Working with centre, delivery partners and academic centres to develop greater understanding for low carbon economy
  • Engaging with centre, customers and delivery and supply chain partners to ensure BAM Nuttall maintain best performing supplier for our customers
  • Evidence capturing and supporting North of England tender submissions team
  • Supporting Innovation and Lean thinking throughout the division, customers and delivery partners
  • Developing Material Management Plans
  • Delivering Circular Economy training / good practice sessions
  • Development of Framework implementation plans for;
  • Carbon Management
  • Carbon Budgets
  • Carbon Road mapping to achieve the Carbon Neutral target 2030
  • UN Sustainability goals
  • BREEAM
  • Assisting projects in BREEAM programme
  • Provide support as and when required to external and company auditor(s)
  • Identify areas for improvement and support requirements and submit to divisional/framework manager for consideration
  • Identify, communicate and share good practice and feedback, throughout the design and delivery process for schemes
  • Provide support to divisional management as required

Who are we looking for?

The following are mandatory requirements:

  • Experience of supporting the planning, implementing, monitoring and improvement of environmental management systems
  • Working towards membership of a related professional body at 'full member/chartered' level, or equivalent. (i.e. IEMA)
  • Able to communicate with people at all levels
  • Proactive attitude, using initiative to liaise with project teams to meet OP actions.
  • Experience in coaching and developing others

The following are desirable requirements:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent technical qualification
  • Experience of working with Environment management systems, preferably in construction
  • Interest in Climate change, Low Carbon Economy and wider Sustainability
  • BREEAM
(Infrastructure) Assessor qualified (or working towards)
