for this role below:

  • Allen Hall

Do you have the skills to effectively manage the day-to-day operational running of a prominent seminary? You could be the next Domestic Bursar at Allen Hall Seminary
:

What you'll be doing:

Situated in Chelsea since 1975, Allen Hall forms men for the Catholic priesthood. It offers an extensive curriculum in Catholic theology, spirituality, human development and pastoral ministry. The seminary's inception dates back to the 16th Century.

It is named after Cardinal William Allen who founded a seminary at Douai (northern France), in 1568 because it was then illegal to form men for the priesthood in England.

We are recruiting a Domestic Bursar for Allen Hall who will be responsible for the operational services at Allen Hall, including but not limited to overseeing the reception, cleaning/housekeeping, catering and maintenance teams.

You will be acting as the main link between the Seminary and wider diocesan departments, ensuring that all diocesan procedures are followed, and being responsible for compliance with legislation (eg. GDPR, Safeguarding, and Health and Safety).

Furthermore, you will have responsibilities surrounding financial management, service delivery, and property/maintenance management on behalf of the Rector.

This role has a wide range of responsibilities and you will work with a variety of stakeholders across Allen Hall and the wider diocese.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the management of the residential logistics for students and visitors alike, ensuring the environment is welcoming, safe and secure.

This means there's lots to get involved in - and to be excited about.

What we're looking for:

You'll love working in a dynamic and varied role, able to adapt rapidly and efficiently to manage competing deadlines.

You will be an approachable and friendly member of the team, developing strong working relationships across departments, and will be able to easily motivate staff to deliver an outstanding service to students, staff and visitors.

Additionally, you will have excellent organisation and people management skills, and an innate ability to connect with your staff to be able to effectively manage and lead them through change.

Furthermore, you will have proven experience of management/leadership experience at a strategic and operational level.

What we offer you:

In return for your hard work and commitment to us, you will receive a competitive reward package which will include, but is not limited to:

  • Life Assurance
  • Access to Healthcare Cash Plan
  • Discounts scheme through Edenredshopping, restaurants, cinema tickets gift cards and much more
  • Season Ticket Loan
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Access to low cost loans with Churches Mutual
  • Employee assistance programme
- free, independent 24/7 help and advice for work-related issues as well as problems affecting home life
