Essential Requirements - GCSE Maths and English C or 4, or an equivalent (Functional Skills level 2)


This position is for Magdalen Nursery in Sutton town - Magdalen Nursery is a unique concept, brought to life through our excellent and highly qualified staff.

We have nurseries in South West London and Sutton.

From our highly proficient managers through to our Early Years Educators, all of our staff have been handpicked from the best in the field.

Every day at Magdalen Nursery is a mixture of child-led and adult directed activities with a curriculum based around learning through play.

Our fun and stimulating environment allows children to embrace their natural curiosity and enthusiasm for life. We believe that by providing a platform that supports children to discover and experiment, they will learn. Throughout the day there are a variety of activities including messy play, drama, painting, baking and books.

We have a lovely vegetable patch specifically for the children - every week they will spend time in our garden learning about fruit and vegetables, growing them and finally enjoying eating them We aim to nurture creativity through music and movement, art and design.

Time will be spent on maths and literacy games as well as exposure to computers and IT.

The main responsibilities of this job role will include:


  • Working towards
    Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship.
  • Supporting the development of the childcare provision.
  • Providing an excellent range of activities that ensures that the child learns
    whilst having fun.
  • Being a team player.

Providing challenging and stimulating activities for all children:


  • Taking part in First Aid training as required
  • Responsibility for equal opportunity in delivery, access and attitude in aspects of service delivery
  • Working with teams across the nursery setting

Supporting children's learning and development
:


  • Preparing and maintaining the environment and resources for the children.
  • Preparation of food for breakfast, snack and afternoon tea.
  • Supporting children's selfhelp needs.

Being creative and enthusiastic.

  • Following Safeguarding rules and regulations to also meet the Standard of the Childcare Apprenticeship.


Learning as you go, we'll match you with a business who needs someone just like you to further enhance their setting and you'll have the chance to put everything you learn into action, with the support of our assessors, your employer and of course, the other apprentices.

Level 3 NVQ - Advanced Diploma Early Years Educator - Your apprenticeship will last for 13 months. You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship, as well as a mentor within the nursery.
You will be working full time in the nursery.

Your classroom days will be based online as a remote session which you will need to be fully available for, and your main apprenticeship work will be done in a nursery local to you.
