Description

Main duties of the job:

  • Drive the Trust's commitment to Acute Medicine, optimize consultant-led care during peak demand hours for rapid assessment and treatment of acutely ill medical patients.
  • Operate the Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit (AEC) at Aintree to provide same-day treatment for ambulatory medical patients and hot clinics, enabling admission avoidance and early patient follow-up.
  • Implement a rapid assessment process and support nursing and medical coordinators with acute take board rounds on the Acute Medical Unit, improving patient care and flow.

Recognitions:

  • Acute Medicine team received Team of the Year and Proud of Aintree awards in November 2016.

Senior clinical involvement available 12 hours per day, 7 days per week, with plans to be provided by Acute Medicine Directorate itself.

Qualifications - Essential criteria:

  • MB ChB or equivalent medical qualification
  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent
  • CCT in acute medicine or GIM (General Internal Medicine) (or within 6 months)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £90,000.00 per year
