Marks Sattin is partnering with a Real Estate Investment Company looking for a Financial Controller to join their UK Finance Team.


Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller UK, the role carries significant responsibility in delivering financial reporting for multiple entities within the European portfolio.


You will oversee a small finance team and several third-party service providers in providing timely and accurate monthly financial reporting and ensuring a robust financial control environment for several legal entities operating primarily in the UK.


The responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts, including analytical review commentary
  • Review of monthly financial reporting packs prepared by the financial reporting team
  • Preparation of quarterly external investor reporting packs and acting as the main point of contact for investment and distribution transactions
  • Ongoing people management of some of the UK financial reporting team
  • Preparation of annual consolidated and singleentity financial statements under IFRS
  • Delivering all audit requests in a timely manner
  • Managing SOX compliance and working closely with external advisors to ensure the maintenance of a robust financial control environment
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key
- stakeholders, including investment partners and senior
- management across Europe and the US

  • Assisting in financial system improvement projects aimed at streamlining
- finance processes and further enhancing financial reporting capabilities


Person Specification:


  • Excellent communicator who is confident and able to interact at all levels within an organisation
  • Wellorganised with a proven ability to plan and deliver
  • Strong ability to build interpersonal relationships
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism

Key skill requirements:


  • ACA/ACCA qualified
  • Proven people management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS (essential) and US GAAP (desirable),
- and experience in consolidation accounting

  • Advanced Excel skills alongside an analytical mindset
  • Commercially minded demonstrating an ability to interpret financial information
  • Experience in the property/construction sectors would be an advantage but is not a necessity
