We have partnered with an esteemed education provider who are looking for an experienced Apprenticeships Skills Coach to support their learners and to work with the employers to make sure the apprentices are fully equipped and are getting the most form their course.

Job Role:
Apprenticeship Skills Coach

As an Apprenticeship Skills Coach, you will be the cornerstone of our client's apprenticeship program, contributing to the development and success of learners


Your responsibilities will include:

1.


Team Specific:
Employer and Apprentice Engagement


  • Cultivate positive relationships with employers, fostering partnerships.
  • Act as a key point of contact for both employers and apprentices.
  • Collaborate with employers to plan workbased development activities.
  • Ensure accurate understanding of the program and its delivery arrangements.
  • Monitor apprentices' progress, identifying skills gaps and facilitating development opportunities.
  • Conduct regular reviews with apprentices and their line managers, building productive relationships.

2. Coaching and Mentoring

  • Support facetoface and online study, facilitating personal development.
  • Provide pastoral support to maximize apprentices' engagement.
  • Facilitate progression and achievement, reviewing data and liaising with line managers.
  • Identify apprentices at risk and implement remedial actions.

3. Teaching & Learning Support

  • Review baseline assessments and create Individual Learning Plans (ILP).
  • Guide apprentices in collating workbased evidence and adapt learning resources.
  • Liaise with academic staff to ensure integration between academic programs and skills/behaviors development.
  • Support the teaching team as required, including codelivery of sessions.

4. Service Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload, ensuring excellent levels of student and employer satisfaction.
  • Use data to benchmark progress and achievement, acting on trends.
  • Collaborate with program administration colleagues to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

5. Generic Responsibilities

  • Foster good working relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across teams to improve services based on quality measures.
  • Share good practice across the team of Apprenticeship Skill Coaches.
  • Attend events with local authorities and agencies as required.

Managing Self:


  • Maintain and develop own knowledge through training and development.
  • Use judgment to escalate issues when necessary.
  • Prioritise and carry out workload, adapting to the demands of a pressured role.
  • Demonstrate initiative and judgment in dealing with external companies.
  • Show willingness to work outside normal hours and travel within the region as required.

Skills Needed to Succeed:


  • Working knowledge of theoretical and applied concepts and principles of workbased learning.
  • Effective communication in visual, oral, and written formats.
  • Compassionate, pragmatic, and inspiring approach to dealing with learners.
  • Extensive use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Proactive in selfdevelopment and committed to CPD.

Qualifications:


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience.
  • Level 3 award/certificate in assessment (e.g., D33/A1/CAVA).
  • Qualification in STEM/construction, coaching, and teaching.
