College Quality Officer - Quality & Standards Team


Education Governance is seeking to recruit a College Quality Officer who will be responsible for developing and maintaining positive working relationships with academic and professional services staff at the University.

The role will provide high quality professional guidance and leadership on all aspects of quality and standards regulations, policies, and procedures facilitating a wider understanding of their contextual importance as well as the operational management of quality and standards activities.

Key Duties

  • To implement, embed and facilitate a contextual understanding of academic regulations, policies, procedures, and systems for assuring the quality and standards of the University's awards within Schools.
  • To provide specialist and contextual advice, guidance and direction on quality assurance regulations, policies, and procedures including regular updates on change through formal and informal networks.
  • Work in partnership with Schools to support a wide range of quality assurance processes including programme approval and maintenance and revalidation in line with institutional expectations.
  • To act as an effective communications conduit between, Schools, Colleges, and other Professional Services staff in matters relating to the contextual landscape in which Cardiff University operates within and how feedback supports the continuous improvement of quality and standards policies and processes.
  • Take responsibility for the operational management of quality assurance activities as confirmed by the Head of Academic Quality and Standards.
  • To work with the Head of Education Governance and the Head of Academic Quality and Standards to evaluate and further develop education governance arrangements at School, College, and University level.
  • To act as Secretary to committees, Task and Finish Groups and/or subcommittees in competent areas, advising members on strategy, policy, and procedure, undertaking research, and writing reports as required.
