E-Learning Developer - Remote (Manchester) - £40,000 - £50,000 - Agency


As a Digital eLearning Developer, you will independently analyse, recommend, develop, and support innovative instructional solutions to meet a variety of educational needs for their clients using appropriate state of the art technology, grounded in soundeducational theory and instructional design.


In partnership with a small and nimble team, you will be responsible for building our eLearning programs and inputting into the user journey and flow.


To be successful in this role you will need to be a generalist, both proficient in design activity (XD, PS, AI, etc.), as well as front-end development (SPO/MS365, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, etc.) and have a solid knowledge and focused experience in buildingcreative and engaging eLearning's.


You will have worked in extended teams with full time and freelance/part-time members, as well as working with third party agencies.

Enthusiasm, energy, and people skills are essential in Digital eLearning Developer role as they sit in the middle of allthe digital activity.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with client and producer experts & content to understand the learning need and build creative learning environment from storyboards and scripts through to final product
  • Develop, analyse and challenge learning aims and objectives, working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design digital learning content that align with these
  • Design and create bespoke interactive and engaging online and blended learning solutions including interactive eLearning, videos, simulations, animations, games, etc. for a variety of topics that meet expected quality standards
  • Utilise a variety of authoring and design software and multimedia tools to develop visuals for slide decks, HTML web pages, print and communications, including curating and creating video and audio resources
  • Ensure that Digital Training materials are kept up to date and available to staff via the relevant platforms
  • Developing rapid layout mockups for proposed pages and content to speed client signoff and delivery
  • Developing documentation on new and integrated solutions developed to train other team members and client stakeholders
  • Partnering with team members to support content development, editing, writing, and designing content when needed
  • Develops courses, web sites and/or learning modules using course management software, web authoring tools, and eLearning technologies to meet strict timelines.
  • Develops interactive instructional learning objects.
  • Builds and maintains assessment and evaluation instruments.
  • Acts as functional lead over components of larger development projects (e.g. courses, course components, learning objects).
  • Researches and recommends new technologies in the field of workplace learning & development

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated ability
  • Develops across media including interactive learning objects with appropriate digital development tools (including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React Js, Angular, jQuery and LESS)
  • Attuned sense of graphic and visual design skills
  • Working knowledge of instructional design theory
  • Strong technical problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience as a eLearning Developer or similar role
  • Experience in creating clear and concise user journeys as part of a eLearning program.
  • Frontend technology: Expertise in frontend technologies, including JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5 and thirdparty libraries such as React Js, Angular, jQuery and LESS
  • Able to work flexibly to deadlines with a high degree of independent judgement
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a highly creative clientfacing environment
  • Ability to liaise with staff at all levels including senior staff

Any of the following are nice to have but not essential

  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, cloud computing and active directory
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Developer Associate
  • Experience in Adobe XD
  • Proficiency using AWS hosting or other hosting servers.
