Events Manager - Sales Manager required for our client; a prestigious country house hotel located in the Barnet area. Live in is

The role of
Events Manager - Sales Manager, is a Meeting & Events Sales role, leading a team of
Meeting & Event Co-ordinators with regards to all aspects of Leisure and Corporate Events Management, e.g.

contract management and payment, Food & Beverage, and operational elements related to any function or event booking.

As
Events Manager - Sales Manager some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Operational and management responsibility for the Events Team/Office
  • Schedule and take enquiries and meet with potential clients, for various types of events and function bookings, including individual Special Events and business meetings/conferences
  • Ensure that excellent customer care is provided, from initial show round to final details of event/function
  • Monitor the function/event diary on a daily basis, to ensure that all team members are managing the diary effectively to maximize revenues and troubleshooting where required
  • Take an active role with the preparation of the budgets and plans for your department and proactively manage costs based on the budgeted P&L figures and development plans
  • Actively participate in any revenue and sales activities plus any specific operational activities
  • Work with Hotel Management to compile and implement the sales & marketing plan for conference and events
  • Proactively identifying new conference accounts, building relationships to grow market share for key account, and maintain account profiles through consistent follow up calls/contact of all key accounts
  • Compile competitor analysis and liaise with Revenue Manager / Proactive Sales Manager to adapt strategy accordingly
  • Responsibility for daily Line Management of the M&E Team, including rota planning, recruitment, performance Review Appraisals etc
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience of Meeting & Events Senior role within a quality hospitality / leisure / customer facing environment
  • Good level of commercial awareness and proven track record of good sales capability is essential
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, with experience of managing and developing people within F&B and customer focussed hospitality environment
  • Strong operational and organisation skills, with a handson and leadbyexample work style to deliver an exceptional performance and guest experience
  • Excellent levels of both written and spoken English are essential, as is attention to detail, along with good numeracy and a good level of IT proficiency
  • Professional, flexible and resilient, with ability to work under pressure and ability to multitask so as to successfully manage conflicting work priorities
  • Commitment to delivering an excellent level of customer service and high operational service standards, with excellent personal presentation standards


The role of
Events Manager - Sales Manager, is a full-time position working 45* hours over 5 days per week, as per rota and in line with business needs.

The working hours equate to 47.5* hrs per week (including 30 mins. unpaid break) withshifts usually between the hours of 8am to 6pm, mainly weekdays, with some Saturdays on rotation. The role requires an expectation to occasionally work at other times as required by the business, e.g. there may be times when you need to attend work for a specificFunction/Event.
