Domestic Services Supervisors (37.5 hours per week), Evening shiftsBand 3 plus applicable enhancements,
Hours of duty will be rotational and will cover 14:00-22:00 Mon-Fri and 12:00-20:00 at weekends.
We are looking for motivated individuals with cleaning or supervisory experience that wish to support domestic assistants/deep cleaners with day-to-day challenges in the workplace.
The Domestic Services Team based at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is looking for Domestic Supervisors to manage and train teams of cleaning staff throughout the workplace.

We are based in Manchester and serve a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 15% patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communication and relationship skills
Ensure routine information is received and communicated to operational staff in a suitable manner in order to understand the content and any possible implications it may have.
Provide a point of contact and engage all staff in departmental issues and changes.
Meet with service users with regard to cleaning services in conjunction with the deputy site services manager.
Assist with implementation of changes to service delivery.
Ensure a partnership approach is adopted across cleaning services at all times.
Support the resolution of problems, interruptions or service emergencies.
- Knowledge, Training & Experience
Have full knowledge and understanding of the National Cleaning Standard and requirements required in clinical and non-clinical areas.
Provide information and advice to domestic and deep clean operational staff, relating to the delivery of cleaning services.
Undertake staff induction, operational and refresher training as required.
Resolve routine operational services issues and failures using own knowledge and experience.
- Analytical & Judgmental Skills
Ensure all shifts rotas are covered including adequate arrangements for sickness, holidays and other absences and have ability to prioritise key areas.
Monitor the quality of work activities undertaken by the designated team using IT based systems, C4C, through audit and working with infection control colleagues in accordance with key performance indicators.
Carry out stock checks and distribution of domestic consumables across site to sluice rooms.
Maintain accurate records relating to Domestic & Deep Clean Services.
- Planning & Organisational Skills
Supervise the services in line with the operational cleaning policy and procedures.
Plan and schedule cleaning audits
- Physical Skills
Ability to use laundry equipment in order to operate a swift efficiency laundering process.
Have good keyboard and audit equipment skills including carrying out electronic cleaning monitoring records e.g. C4C Monitoring
Oversee the stock control and cleaning monitoring software; responsible for upgrades on the network.
- Responsibility for Patient/Client Care
Respond to all Domestic & Deep Clean operational work requirements in an effective and timely manner.
