Category Lead
Could you be our next Category Lead? We are looking for a Category Lead who can help us redefine what's possible for Procurement and deliver agreed objectives in line with the Procurement strategy


As part of our 'Grow with Gatwick' initiative; if you haven't had prior strategic Procurement experience but have the ability to learn strategic procurement quickly, you'll be provided with plenty of training and support to ensure you're developing and growing your career.


What is the role?


The Category Lead will support the Procurement Managers in the delivery of a category strategy, driving value through being a trusted commercial advisor who supports and challenges stakeholders' requirements.

They will provide Procurement support and guidance ensuring adherence to Procurement governance and levels of authority procedures.


A role focused on delivery we are looking for those who are naturally inquisitive, passionate about stakeholder engagement and possess influential leadership skills to prioritise, influence decision making and take accountability in the Procurement process.


What will you do?

  • With support of Procurement Managers, develop Procurement Strategy for assigned categories, aligning commercial review and strategic opportunities to business priority.
  • Provide clear sourcing strategies for BAU commodities to support internal stakeholders and simplify the P2P process.
  • Lead project work, with support of the Procurement Managers
  • Providing advice and professional procurement support to internal stakeholders.
  • Support completion of commercial and contractual requirements and utilise appropriate methods to keep contracts up to date, including provisions on ESG and DEI.
  • Shared responsibility for maintaining the SAP supplier database.

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience supporting strategic procurement with knowledge of goods and services
  • Knowledge of drafting and negotiating contracts to meet significant business objectives and to achieve operational outcome.
