Description
Locum resident consultant paediatrician (2 posts) commencing March 2023.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint to these 2 newly created posts with daytime direct clinical care involving general/speciality clinics, ambulatory care or neonatal care.

We are flexible in terms of the interests we could accommodate. Supporting professional activity time will allow the opportunity to develop management roles.

The successful applicants will participate in the middle grade out of hours rota with compensatory time off during the week.

We offer you the opportunity to work in a friendly and cohesive department providing high-quality services. There is a strong focus on multidisciplinary teaching, and we have a consistently excellent training reputation.

The Whittington is a major provider of secondary care to the local boroughs of Islington and West Haringey, and is one of the three main teaching campuses of the Royal Free and University College Medical School.

We welcome enquiries from applicants who will hold CCT by March 2023.

Please see the full Job Description and the Person Specification for further details about the job role.

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone.

Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff.

We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief.

The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences.

We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.

TIMETABLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST
Consultant job plans are annualized. The timetable below is thus only a framework. The actual number of clinics per week can be variable.

The total number per year is calculated as part of the job planning process once acute PA's and SPA time is accounted for.

Job planning is a transparent process and done as a department.

The days of the week the appointee will work may be negotiated depending on their needs and those of the department.

Shared office space and secretarial support will be provided.

Please see the full job description attached for further details and a sample timetable.
