The Company:


The Sign Group is on of the UKs largest trade only sign suppliers, manufacturing for the signage, display, visual merchandising and exhibition sectors.

It is an established business that is well respected worldwide, and gets involved with high profile work.


The Role:

CNC Operator

As a CNC Operator your main duties will be:

  • Programming the CNC machines and keeping them running.
  • Maximising the output of the machines to make sure there's no backlog.
  • Work with other departments ensuring jobs are cut at the right time for when they are needed.
  • Maintaining the CNC machines keeping them in perfect working order.
  • Liaising directly with external engineers to solve any issues with the machines and organise engineer visits to rectify problems.
  • Keeping good stock control of router consumable parts.
  • Keeping all offcut materials organised in racking.
  • Keeping good stock control of sheet material.
  • Working as a bench hand when needed to help the main workshop team with general assembly, sanding and other tasks.

Required Skills:


  • The ability to learn quickly.
  • Be able to read and understand manufacturing drawings.
  • Excellent time keeping.
  • A good attitude to work and meeting deadlines.
  • High levels of organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A high level of selfdiscipline and eye for detail is essential.

Desirable experience:


  • Experience of programming and running CNC Machines, specifically Tekcel machines.
  • Previous experience using Artcam or V Carve Pro
  • Previous experience using The Adobe Suite would be helpful but not critical

Training:


  • Training on techniques and processes used in our CNC department will be given as necessary
  • Continual H&S and working systems training

Working Hours:

8am - 4:30pm, including a 30min lunch and two 10min breaks.

Mon-Fri

40hrs per week.

Overtime work is regularly available paid at time and a half.

Salary:
£21,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
