Key Responsibilities:


  • The role of Specialist Support Worker
  • Substance Misuse forms part of a wider system response within Plymouth Alliance to working with vulnerable people with substance use life challenges.
  • You will support the development of and deliver a specialist programme of harm reduction and psychosocial intervention for clients with substance use challenges.
  • You will be the initial point of contact to enable clients to access appropriate substance use services, including referral to specialist support services.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment, be solution focused, show good time management skills and can demonstrate ability to prioritise and make decisions under pressure.
  • Motivation towards supporting vulnerable clients to achieve focussed and positive life outcomes.
  • Able to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army.
