The Role:

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical lead consultant within the Consultant Team supporting the countywide Reablement and Hampshire Equipment Service (HES).
  • Reablement Consultants have a wealth of experience and expertise which promotes a learning culture. The team have an ethos of continuous improvement and support the leadership teams with staff development to ensure the service can deliver great outcomes for the residents of Hampshire. The consultant team are ambassadors for the reablement and equipment services and interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and networks.
  • Consultants are practice leaders who have skills, knowledge and experience to provide practice expertise and to guide, advise and coach/mentor team members. The clinical lead consultant will develop best practice standards and clinical guidelines based on research evidence. They will align the reablement and equipment services with Health and Safety and NICE guidelines, provide clinical guidance to the leadership teams and have the appropriate networks to access the most up to date and advanced clinical resources.
  • Working collaboratively with the Learning and Development clinical lead to audit and develop training, the clinical lead consultant will ensure that training materials and delivery are fit for purpose for the service.
  • Consultant practice is characterised by a high degree of autonomy and supports complex decision making. All reablement consultants, regardless of their background, support the Royal College of Occupational Therapy four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research.
