Part Time- 2 1⁄2 days, Term Time only

£8,200 to £9,086


We are looking for a highly motivated individual to fill this part-time position of Technician within the Hospitality and Catering department at Nescot College.


The department is centred around state-of-the-art professional catering kitchens and the on-site restaurant, both of which support the delivery and assessment of a range of Professional Cookery courses from Initial Skills in Catering & Hospitality through to our Level Three Advanced Professional Cookery programme.

We are looking to recruit a member of staff to support our existing full-time Technician, Chef-Lecturers, and our Practical Instructor, with the preparation and maintenance of these areas for teaching and assessment and to support the teaching team during service in the restaurant on some evenings.


You must have experience of working within a professional catering environment, a flexible approach to work, be able to work independently, be tidy and able to organise and prioritise tasks.

You should have previous work experience in this role, ideally in an education environment.

Nescot is a college of FE and HE learning and so a wide range of students utilise the facilities to learn and develop practical skills for working within the industry.


Applicants must be able to commit to a mix of day and evening working but no late shifts as the restaurant is currently only open during the day and in the early evening.

Nescot is graded 'Good' by Ofsted following its latest inspection in January 2023. Inspectors rated the College as Good in all 8 aspects.

The report recognises that students "enjoy their courses and are motivated to succeed", and benefit from "highly supportive relationships" with staff.

This role is employed through Nescot Enterprises Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nescot which operates different terms and conditions.
