We have an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Merchandiser to join our dynamic team based in our modern Head Office at Thorpe Park, Leeds.
Purpose of the role:
As an Assistant Merchandiser you will play a vital role within our Merchandising teams. You will provide essential support to your department reporting into the Merchandiser.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy:

Assist the Merchandiser to ensure all product strategies are executed in line with the overall business needs
- Assist the Merchandiser with range planning including; analysis of previous seasons sales by preagreed attributes
- Support the Merchandiser to communicate information effectively to all levels of the BSI management team
Trade and Planning:
- Updating and maintaining the weekly sales and margin reports, identifying any anomalies and highlighting these to the Merchandiser
- Manage the department critical path which includes chasing suppliers to adhere to deadlines. Participate in the CP meeting.
- Assist the Merchandiser with stock, sales and cash flow via spreadsheet maintenance and accuracy
- Ensuring all supplier invoices and packing lists are correct, rasing queries if necessary
- Monitoring all stock intake and stock levels for the relevant customers and ensuring stock is processed in a timely manner
- Ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time whether this is for Wholesale, Ecomm or Retail
- Producing seasonal sizescales, raising purchase orders and providing EAN data
- Maintenance of the buying minutes and other Oasys functions including; activating products, entering price lists, entering production, amending quantities and delivery dates when required
- Assisting the Merchandiser in seasonal planning and providing forecasts to the buyers/suppliers
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure products are despatched to the agreed exfactory date
- Liaise with the sales team and customers to ensure that they are fully updated on all deliveries and answer any relevant queries
- Attend key internal and supplier meetings alongside the Merchandiser. Complete all meeting minutes for the Merchandiser
- Review assess and present sales and margins in line with weekly trading meetings.
- Work with the forwarder in requesting freight quotes, raising POs and tracking all freight costs to cross check against invoices
Additional Responsibility:
- Maintaining the attendance register
- Providing regular and ad hoc reports for internal/external teams and customers
- Store visits
- General office / departmental duties
Knowledge/Skills:
- Relevant skills working within a B&M office buying cycle, critical paths and stock management
- Experience working as a Merchandise Admin Assistant
- Accuracy
- Financial awareness and understanding of departmental budgets and margins
- Commercial and competitor awareness
- Strong housekeeping and organisational skills
- Numeracy
