Job description

  • The Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research, School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences is currently seeking to appoint a Research Fellow.
  • The successful applicant will work with Dr Emma Kerr to define the metabolic mechanisms of colorectal drug resistance. The position will involve working as part of a CRUK funded research programme based within the PGJCCR colorectal cancer research network, collaborating with local and international experts to generate and maintain novel in vitro and in vivo colorectal cancer models, and develop new LC-MS methodologies to study metabolic reprogramming in the context of colorectal cancer therapy.
  • Obtained or are about to obtain a PhD in cancer biology, molecular biology or a related discipline
  • Active Personal Licence holder (DoH or HO)
  • At least three years' relevant research experience
  • Experienced in in vitro culture of 3D organoid models of cancer
  • Demonstrable experience in GEMM colony management
  • Demonstrable experience in colorectal transplant and GEMM models of cancer, specifically using colonscopyguided induction methodology
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and refining LC-MS metabolomics platforms in different medias
  • Publication record commensurate with experience.
