The Role:

This role is key in the running of SATCoL. You will be required to support the Senior Procurement & Inventory Buyer in the day to day purchasing operations.

The role will be Mon-Fri 9.30am-2.30pm based at our Wellingborough Support Centre.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Working closely with, and supporting the Senior Procurement & Inventory Buyer
  • Develop and manage good relationships with current and potential suppliers to maximise growth.
  • Ensure that suppliers meet the company's current ethical standards.
  • Ensuring product quality, consistency, and service.
  • Plan sourcing opportunities and be able to present how the company can capitalise on them.
  • Manage and maintain the stock ensuring that we have the optimum stock holding levels.
  • Ensure incoming products meet quality and quantity specifications.
  • Ensure that any orders that are outside delivery SLAs are followed up until received.
  • Any other ad hoc duties that may be required

Desirable skills and qualifications:


  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Computer literate and experienced in the use of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Sensitive to the aims and ethos of The Salvation Army
