Due to expansion of our pharmacy homecare service we are looking for a Band 3 Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our pharmacy procurement and homecare team.

An enthusiastic, reliable and conscientious individual is required to support the Pharmacy procurement office & homecare services.

Experience procurement/ homecare / invoice processing or data entry is essential.

You will be expected to have or be willing to study for an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy or similar qualification

NHS or Pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.


37.5 HOURS PER WEEK THERE IS ALSO A REQUIREMENT TO WORK ON A ROTA BASIS TO PROVIDE AN EXTENDED SERVICE AT LATE NIGHTS, WEEKENDS AND BANK HOLIDAYS.

Assist with the leadership and day to day running of the pharmacy procurement office


To manage homecare prescriptions, liaising with clinical teams and homecare providers to ensure patients receive their medications in a timely manner.

To produce patient specific orders again patient prescriptions.


To process patient specific invoices for payment in a timely manner, dealing with any queries and discrepancies in a timely manner.

To be responsible for the day to day ordering of stock, chasing out standing orders and managing and sourcing of stock

To be responsible for the payment of invoices/credits on the pharmacy computer system.

To maintain the pharmacy computer system ensuring that drug contract prices are updated as required.

The post holder will also support the pharmacy stores with Goods receipt and picking and packing as required.
