HR Advisor - opportunity for exposure to employee relations and project work

About Our Client:

This company is a well-established firm in the manufacturing industry with a workforce of over 300. Known for its commitment to quality and innovation, it has a strong presence in both local and international markets. The organisation will provide exposure to many elements of HR, including full employee lifecycle, employee relations and project work.

The team structure is as follows:

  • HR Director
  • HR Manager
  • HR Advisor (this vacancy)
  • HR Admin Support


The team is flexible and dynamic so it's important you are a team player and don't restrict yourself to the confinements of your job description.

This is a hands-on role where the team will work together to complete what's needed to be done.-
Weekly Payroll Administration:

  • Manage weekly payroll administration tasks, including:
  • Checking and updating time & attendance system.
  • Updating payroll spreadsheets and communicating with external payroll provider.

HR Related Administration:


  • Oversee various HR administrative tasks, including:
  • Managing return-to-work and annual leave requests via HR system.
  • Handling absence management and conducting reviews.
  • Managing processes for new starters, probation reviews, and exit interviews.
  • Maintaining accurate data recording for KPIs
  • Coordinating meetings and reviewing policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining personnel files.

Employee Relations:


  • Provide support to managers in various employee relations matters, including:
  • Assisting with absence reviews, disciplinary investigations, and probation reviews.
  • Coordinating with occupational health services.

Recruitment:


  • Support managers in recruitment activities, including:
  • Liaising and building relationships with recruitment agencies and assisting with interview processes.

On-boarding & Induction:


  • Facilitate theonboarding and induction process for new employees, including:
  • Issuing offer letters, contracts, and new starter packs.
  • Conducting Right to Work checks for both UK and foreign nationals.
  • Updating HR systems and conducting HR induction sessions.
  • Booking Health & Safety inductions.

Employee Engagement/Employee Benefits:


  • Support employee engagement initiatives and manage employee benefits, including:
  • Facilitating Works Council activities and conducting employee surveys.
  • Organizing birthday cards/gifts, long service awards, and seasonal gifting for events like Christmas, Easter, and St. David's Day.

The Successful Applicant:


A successful HR Advisor should have:

  • CIPD or working towards
  • Previous experience in HR is essential, ideally HR Officer level and above
  • Employee relations experience is desirable

What's on Offer:


  • A competitive salary in the range of £28,000 £32,000 per annum.
