"We are working on behalf of our client who is recruiting for a Credit Controller join a small team in a local reputable company based in Newry. Reporting to the Credit Control Manager you will be responsible for and assisting with the successful execution of the Credit Control Function
About the Job
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with Accounts Receivable sales processes
- Accurately receipt and allocate payments daily to the ledger
- Process month end statements
- Data entry onto the finance system, maintaining customer rates and additional charges in preparation for weekly accounts
- Proactively manage the debtor's ledger, ensuring debts are collected within agreed credit terms
- Develop and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships
- Reduce debtor days and debtor balances
- Assist with Accounts Payable invoice and payment processes
- Posting and allocating payments on to SAGE accounts
- Assist with reconciliations, monthend processes and financial reports
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments to resolve queries in a timely manner
Experience, Skills and Attributes
- Recent experience in a finance / credit control setting or similar role
- Ability to work effectively and without direct supervision.
- Conscientious and reliable.
- Flexible attitude and methodical approach to work/training/working hours
- The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
- Be proactive and able to make decisions.
- Ideally have experience on Accounts and Accounting software packages such as SAGE.
