Fixed term until 30th September 2025, Full time


Duties will include undertaking cellular and molecular experiments to assay neuronal resilience in iPSC-derived neurons and neuronal-like cell lines, including focused CRISPR screens; management of your own research within guidelines provided by Dr.

Carlyle; project planning; experimental optimization; presentation of data; contribution to scientific reports and articles; and assistance with general lab management and administration.


Applicants must hold, or be near completion of, a BSc/MSc in a relevant area of research and have a strong interest in cellular neuroscience, and molecular cell biology relevant to analysis of neuronal phenotypes.

You will have practical experience of working with cell cultures, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage your own research activities.

You will have experience of following and adapting protocols, including for imaging-based experiments. The ability to innovate, trouble-shoot technical problems, be meticulous in practical work and in record keeping is essential. You should demonstrate a commitment to engaging with, and promoting awareness of, equality, diversity and inclusion in your work.

The post is available from 1st August 2023 and is fixed term until 30th September 2025.

The post will be based in the Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin Building, Sherrington Road, Oxford, OX1 3QU.
