Description

A Health and Safety Officer is required to work with a Lancashire based college carrying out on-site Employer Health & Safety Appraisals (HSA) to ensure the safeguarding of all work experience and industry placement students.


Duties include:

  • Carry out a review of an Employer's work premises in a professional manner
  • Consider and review the suitability of the Employer workplace for students, bearing in mind the high safeguarding standards and ALS requirements
  • Provide guidance, advice and information templates to those Employers that do not meet the standards to give them the opportunity of raising their own health and safety standards
  • Ensure all communication with each Employer is accurately recorded on the CRM system, so that colleagues are fully informed of progress throughout the HSA process

Experience Required:

  • NEBOSH, IOSH or CIEH this is preferred, or be working towards them.
  • Experience of carrying out Workplace Health & Safety assessments in different work environments
  • Successful experience of working with young people
  • Driving licence and access to own transportation
A DBS ir preferred, we can process one if necessary.
