Purpose of the Role

  • To work in line with the business planned requirements directed by the Procurement Manager.
  • Ensure all goods inwards and despatch transactions are carried out in an appropriate, costeffective and safe manner.
  • Take the lead from the Procurement Manager and Production Managers to improve operational management systems, processes, best practices and continuous improvements.
  • Receipt all goods into the business within the ERP System within 24 hours of delivery. in a timely manner.
  • Quarantine goods inwards appropriately until QA checks have been satisfactorily completed.
  • Manage any quarantined goods appropriately inline with the QA manual.
  • Complete manual and computer based systems when all goods are received recording quantity check, GRPO numbers, scanning of paperwork / mill certs to file.
Maintain "Parts for Jobs" system at all times storing appropriately within Goods Inwards department.

  • Assist with day to day stores activities including of prepping of materials to be issued to the workshop. This will involve the use of the saw where and when required.
  • Liaise with all departments appropriately communicating that Goods have been received reporting any supply / quality issues immediately to QA and Procurement.
  • Ensure goods received are made available to all required and clear status of goods is visible (quarantined, ready for issue, returns, etc).
  • Ensure that all pick and pack orders are ready for despatch within 48 hours of receipt of the Sales Order.
  • Work with department leads to ensure safe and correct storage of goods in their areas when delivered.
  • Use of forktruck in the stores and other areas when required.
  • Maintenance and upkeep of the forktruck (daily oil and water checks for example) and reporting of any defects. Keep a log of maintenance.
  • Ensure the organization's processes remain legally compliant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Production leads to ensure the correct level of materials are available when required at all times.
  • Ensure the quality of storage media is always appropriate so as to satisfy customer's expectations.
  • Ensure each team board is updated daily addressing the departmental KPI's positively each day.
  • Ensure you operate safely and respecting company H&S policies at all times.
Address departmental daily 5S improvement requirements in a timely manner.

  • Ensure the department is kept clean and tidy and end of shift checks are completed daily.
  • When required, provide the Procurement team with relevant required inventory location / quantity information.
  • Concise management of all inventory in all stores locations as per Quality Manual.
  • Accurate stock counts during audits.
  • Continually improve the department and ensure any pertinent actions are implemented.
  • Actively find ways to improve Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD).
  • Work with the despatch and warehouse teams to ensure all products are boxed and packed in the most suitable way for transportation.
  • Provide weights and dimensions to warehouse / despatch teams in good time.
  • Scan all documents to the network as per Quality Manual instructions.
  • Record all incoming and outgoing transactions as per work instructions.
  • Record throughput on team board KPI's
  • Manage materials / supplies delivery to production areas on a JIT basis as per schedule from Production Planning.
  • Operate the saw to cut any required materials that has not been delivered to length.
  • Assist in the boxing department when required to do so by the Production team.
  • Work in Goods In and/or Goods Out when required.
  • Outside yard responsibility for tidiness and cleanliness. Material and waste skip management.
  • Control of supplier and customer transportation visitors. Signing in/out process, recording the drivers name, vehicle and time in/out details, ensuring the abide by company rules at all times.
