We are looking for a part time Pharmacy Counter Assistant to join our friendly team at Whetstone Chemist, Leicester.

The hours for this position will vary 15-25 hours per week.

We require some flexibility in the hours worked, occasional Saturday cover and there will be an opportunity for overtime throughout the year.


Key skills:


In order to maintain a high standard of customer service, you must possess excellent communication skills, be knowledgeable on our pharmacy products and endorse our key services.

You must be confident at providing professional advice and directing patients to the correct treatments and medications, working independently to resolve patient queries.

You must be able to identify when to refer customers to other healthcare professionals, including the pharmacist, or other healthcare services.


As part of your role, you must be accurate in identifying and storing incoming stock, completing documentation and notifying suppliers of any discrepancies.

You will receive and check in prescriptions ensuring the correct payment has been made or confirming prescription exemptions.

It will be your responsibility to ensure the shop is clean and fully stocked, rotating and date checking products.

Previous Pharmacy experience is essential and you must possess a Counter Medicines Assistant qualification. (Or equivalent) You must be keen to learn about new products, schemes and services.

Salary is dependent on previous experience.

£10.50 per hour

  • Monday to Friday
