Description
An exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a leading manufacturing organisation as a Buyer. This role will be responsible for placing purchase orders and managing material flow for the business.


Key Responsibilities of the Buyer;

  • Daily management of global supplier and subcontractor portfolio.
  • Demand and forecast control, including challenging internal MRP demand.
  • Review weekly/monthly/quarterly delivery schedule and forecast with suppliers.
  • Monitor and manage delivery forecasts through regular interaction with suppliers.
  • Manage operational risks and issues.
  • Arrange shipping with 3PL providers.
  • Drive the reverse logistics flows (quotes, return parts, followed removals).
  • Manage & optimise airfreight cost.
  • Maintain and optimise the ordering parameters and buyers master data.
  • Support optimisation of inventory parameters (Safety stock, reorder point).
  • Monitor and improve key Supplier relationships.
  • Monitor Supply Chain's performance.
  • Measure Supply Chain KPIs.
  • Support NPI for Supplier selection by providing data and supplier knowledge.

Personal Specification of the Buyer;

  • Degree and / or CIPS qualification would be preferred.
  • Proven Purchasing experience.
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills.


  • Intermediate

  • Advanced Excel skills.


This role would also suit you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement including Buyer, Purchasing Controller, Commodity Manager, Sourcing Manager, Supplier Coordinator.


Salary:
£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Greenford: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
