Team Leader - Fault Report Investigations (Gas Turbine Core Engines)

A fantastic opportunity for an individual to work in a friendly environment, leading a small team conducting the engineering investigation of reported field faults, related to Gas Turbine core engines.

These investigations aim to both understand their root cause and release the design/process solutions required to prevent their recurrence.

Our Fault Report Investigation Team is based in Lincoln and is part of the Design & Engineering group supporting the Small Gas Turbine business within Siemens-Energy.

We are looking for a confident, self-motivated, and competent designer/engineer, who can take on responsibility for supervising & developing the team to maximise achievement of its aims & objectives.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Lead, mentor & motivate a small team conducting field fault report investigations on Gas Turbine Core Engines & their compressor, rotor, turbine and combustion components.
Supervise, mentor & develop the team, including its ways of working & specific investigations, to achieve the optimal balance of cost effectiveness, quality, ontimedelivery & business target achievement.
Act to minimise the negative impact of nonconformances on safety, customer satisfaction & the business profits of all parties, plus maximise the positive benefits of lessons learnt.
Assist in identifying & prioritising those fault reports warranting investigation/resolution.
Clarify investigation aims & customer expectations, develop programs aimed at achieving these & act to deliver them within the minimum practical time/cost.
Provide expert support to customer meetings, evidence gathering/collating, root cause analysis, risk assessment, site mitigations and solution development/release.
Monitor, drive, and report upon team performance & target achievement
Ensure the quality of team investigations, records & outputs, plus compliance with all current procedures & best practises.

WHAT YOU BRING

Higher National or Degree Qualified in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Strong Engineering/Design experience in a gas turbine or similar environment.
Proven ability to conduct and/or project manage high priority and technically complex investigations, plus multiple concurrent tasks, to challenging timescales.
Proven ability to communicate at all levels, both written & verbal
Experience of drawing office and change control practises / tools (PLM, Team Centre etc) would be advantageous.
Experience in fault investigation, risk assessment, problem solving, plus associated tools & methods, would be advantageous.
The potential to manage/supervise a small team to optimise efficiency, performance, quality & ontimedelivery.
