The Department of Professional Healthcare Education, Apprenticeship team are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join their team and support the delivery of Clinical Apprenticeships/Clinical Skills across the Organisation.

Registered Nurse/ODP or Allied Professional.


Working within the Clinical Apprenticeship Team, you will be part of the support structure to enable our Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) workforce to develop along a structured and varied career pathway.


This role facilitates the development of individuals 'New to Care' (HCSW Level 2 Apprenticeship), Level 3 and Level 5 Assistant Practitioners and assist with the delivery of the Clinical Skills Programmes.


Assist with the delivery of the clinical skills programme ensuring it is contemporary and responsive to service and patient pathway needs.

Support the clinical skills programme delivery, content, structure and clinical competency development.


Assist the clinical apprenticeship team to deliver the clinical apprenticeship programmes liaising with educational providers and acting as the conduit with clinical practice areas and multi-disciplinary teams.

Assist the support structure for clinical apprenticeships across the organisation


Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.

Facilitate the delivery of proactive and responsive apprenticeship training, which is compliant with National Apprenticeship standards and is achievable within clinical practice and the changing needs and environs of patient care.


Support the clinical apprenticeship delivery team in the planning, delivery and evaluation of apprenticeship training and assessment across the organisation.


Support the clinical apprenticeship delivery team to facilitate clinical teams in the management of apprenticeships, competency and training within their areas/departments.


Facilitate the evaluation of apprenticeship programmes and clinical skills training to determine the adequacy of existing curriculum, competencies and structure.

Support the Clinical Apprenticeship Manager and Clinical Educator for Clinical Apprenticeships to monitor, audit and evaluate clinical apprenticeship placements.


Provide information and advice to support the Trust to meet national standards and legislative requirements in relation to clinical apprenticeships.


As an Employer Provider work collaboratively with Educational Providers to ensure assessment processes for mid -point reviews and End Point Assessment (EPA's) are met.

Support the evaluation of apprenticeship training to promote blended contemporary learning to facilitate high standards of clinical practice.

Assist the apprenticeship team to support the on-going ICQ e-learner programme.


Work collaboratively with educational providers to ensure there is support for learners to reach their full potential, support apprenticeships with disability and learner development needs.

Promote and develop innovative approaches to develop apprenticeships within clinical practice.


Work collaboratively with the Clinical Apprenticeship Team Manager, Clinical Educator for Apprenticeships to collate intelligence/Data to formulate reports of apprenticeship progress, retention and attrition.
