Who are we?_

Walter C. Parson is an independent Funeral Directors, with 12 offices across Devon and Cornwall. We are a family business established in 1842 which has remained in the family for seven generations.

We strive to deliver a first-class service, one which would only be acceptable to a member of our own family.

What is the role?

In this role you will be required to take part in the Out of Hours Removal Rota to allow us to provide a 24-hour service.

This involves being on call outside of office hours for 13 weeks' during the year on a rota basis (1 week in 4).

Out of hours duties are paid in addition to your salary.


What will you need to do this role?
You don't have to have prior experience to be selected for this role.

Our ideal person will be well presented, have excellent customer service skills, good manners and won't mind being outside in all weathers.

A full clean driving licence is also a must and living within the area of Newton Abbot to Exeter would be preferable.

Please note that whilst mechanical means are used as much as possible there are occasions where lifting and carrying heavy weights are part of the role.

Manual handling training is provided and the company takes their responsibility seriously; however, applicants must be able to carry out the full duties of the role.

What we offer in return

• 30 hours per week.
• Salary: £15,600 per annum plus payments for participation in the oncall rota up to £2,500 per annum.
• 5 weeks holiday.
