  • Run a small classroom maximum for 68 students with complex behaviour needs.
  • Develop and implement personalised learning plans tailored to each student's unique requirements.
  • Utilie evidencebased strategies and interventions to address challenging behaviours.
  • Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Provide tutoring sessions to students in need of academic support
  • Develop personalised lesson plans based on the individual needs and learning styles of each student
  • Assist students in understanding and completing homework assignments
  • Teach study skills and effective learning strategies to help students become independent learners
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians on a regular basis
  • Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to ensure continuity of instruction

Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs):


  • Develop and implement detailed ILPs tailored to the unique learning styles and behaviour needs of each student.
  • Regularly review and update ILPs in collaboration with other educators, support staff, and parents.

Curriculum Adaptation:


  • Modify existing curriculum materials to accommodate diverse learning needs and address specific behavioural challenges.
  • Create and implement supplementary materials and resources to enhance the learning experience.

Behaviour Intervention Plans (BIPs):


  • Collaborate with the school's behaviour support team to create effective BIPs for students with complex behaviour needs.
  • Monitor and adjust BIPs as necessary to ensure continued progress and positive behavioural outcomes.

Goal Setting and Tracking:


  • Establish measurable academic and behavioural goals for each student, aligning them with their IEP objectives.
  • Regularly assess and track progress toward goals, adjusting instructional strategies accordingly.

Differentiated Instruction:


  • Design and implement differentiated instructional strategies that cater to various learning modalities and behavioural profiles within the classroom.
  • Provide alternative assessments and activities to accommodate diverse needs and preferences.

Collaborative Planning Meetings:


  • Participate in collaborative planning meetings with other educators, specialists, and support staff to coordinate strategies and ensure a cohesive approach to student development.

Data Collection and Analysis:


  • Collect and analyse data related to student academic performance and behaviour, using this information to inform instructional decisions and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of student progress.

Parent Involvement:


  • Foster open communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress, sharing insights on both academic achievements and behavioural developments.
  • Collaborate with parents to develop strategies for reinforcing learning and behaviour goals at home.

Resource Identification:


  • Identify and integrate appropriate educational resources, including assistive technology and adaptive materials, to support students with complex behaviour needs.

Professional Development:


  • Stay informed about the latest research, methodologies, and best practices in the field of special education, continuously seeking professional development opportunities.

Salary:
£20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week
