Our client a US Law firm whose London office, established in 1972, is the second-largest office of the Firm.It serves as a natural focal point for English law advice, as well as for cross-border European and cross-continental transactions.
The office serves major corporate, financial institution, investment banking, private equity, government, sovereign wealth, individual and family clients throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Gulf regions and Central Asia, as well as our clientsfrom outside these regions with interests there.
They are now looking for a Billing Coordinator, this position will work closely with the European Billing Manager and provide efficient billing support to the Firm and its clients.
They will proactively review and monitor unbilled inventory and work with the European Billing Manager to ensure compliance with client billing requirements.
This individual will work to develop relationships with assigned partners and secretariesand create individualized billing plans according to partner preference.
Responsibilities
- Responds to requests for billing materials received from Partners.
- Proactively monitor unbilled index of each assigned billing partner to identify opportunities to issue bills.
- Communicate with European Billing Manager and partners to determine which matters require draft preparation.
- Prepare draft bill narratives for partner/associate review.
- Review and analyse time entries to enable drafting of legal bills as necessary for partner review and summary memoranda to clients.
- Research and investigate time entry narratives for appropriateness as necessary.
- Liaison between European Billing Manager, partners and billing team to finalize, render and submit invoices to clients.
- Producing client billing reports as and when requested by Partners.
- In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining Firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the Firm's information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification,destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Confident with numbers.
- Analytical and detail orientated.
- A flexible approach to tasks and hours of duty, including overtime.
- Selfmotivated and persistent in ensuring tasks are efficiently and effectively completed.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact constructively with all levels of staff.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Strong team player.
- Is punctual, professional and reliable.
- Possesses basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
