THE ROLE


We are currently recruiting for a Control of Work Supervisor based in Hamble, Southampton working for our end client BP, The Control of Work Supervisor shall ensure that all work carried out within the terminal falls within the BP guidelines for control of work as laid out in regulations and code of practice.

This will involve ensuring that all activities on site are controlled by either a permit to work or a risk assessed procedure.


Main Duties:


  • Take the lead on all control of work matters and provide support and guidance to the Shift Supervisor on days.
  • Attend and hold weekly planning meetings.
  • Provide continuity from day to day and week to week.
  • Responsible for the control of all work on site including but not limited to gas testing, issue of permits, electrical and mechanical isolations and agreement of risk assessed procedures to be used.
  • Responsible for the generation, upkeep, and maintenance of all control of work procedures on site to the standards required.
  • Be responsible for adherence to all safety and contractor security aspects within the terminal. Ensuring all tasks are performed within current safety legislation and the company safety policy whilst achieving laid down terminal performance measurement standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Review regularly all aspects of terminal operations, at a supervisory level, suggesting practices which can be improved.
  • Engagement with Operational workforce and contractors to ensure safety, efficiency and availability of plant and equipment Promote BP's HSSE policies including Golden Rules of Safety.
