Telent are now looking for a Continuous Improvement Lead Consultant (CI Lead Consultant) to join the Network Services business.

Reporting to the Technical Solutions Director, you will have the opportunity to implement continuous improvement plans across the Network Services business, ensure that any changes to process is smoothly transitioned whilst managing internal stakeholders and teams through this change.


This CI Lead Consultant role is contracted out of the Warwick Headquarters, however, this role is predominantly a work from home / Agile working role.

You will need to visit various other Telent offices as of when required (UK wide) to meet with other teams and business leaders - flexibility to travel required.

CI Lead Consultant - What you'll do:

  • To support / lead on the planning and implementation of CI projects from project initiation and business case development to successful implementation, utilising project management methodologies and documentation.
  • To liaise with process owners to ensure the business areas impacted by the project are well prepared for the implementation of the project deliverables; so that project outputs are achieved.
  • To ensure the delivery of the project specifications to quality, timelines, and budget targets.
  • Supporting the collection, assimilation and analysis of process data and its effective use to develop and achieve key targets and objectives
  • Promoting CI / Lean standard with daily activities.
  • To facilitate, define and develop detailed project plans to include project scope, objectives and deliverables ensuring that all the critical activities required to deliver a project; are identified.
  • To identify project stakeholders; develop and maintain their engagement at all stages of the project through effective communication and involvement.
  • To monitor and track progress against project plan deliverables, ensuring stakeholders and project sponsors are always kept fully informed of project developments.
  • To identify, log and manage challenges / risks against any deviations from the project plan; reporting and recommending corrective action and preparing solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Always encourage and promote teamworking, nurturing improvement ideas, opinions, and a positive 'CI' culture.
  • Working collaboratively across business support functions, by building effective working relationships.
  • Continually seek to cost optimise by reviewing end to end processes and procedures.
  • Conducting CI aligned to customer projects and the wider business units.
  • To work closely with the quality team to understand the root cause for all quality issues and implement corrective actions consistently such that problems do not reoccur.
  • Data Collection & Analyses / Interpretation to identify key trends and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Problem Solving Activities (RCA, 8D, A3 Reports).
  • Cost Reduction Projects: in order to contribute to the 'Cost Saving Target'.
  • Value Stream Mapping.
  • Contributes to project's delivery, commitments, and strategy.
  • Creating COQ (Cost of Quality), VOC (Voice of Customers), Gap Analysis, Stakeholder's Analysis.
  • Efficiency / Productivity / Team's Performance Improvement

CI Lead Consultant - Who you are:

We are looking for a natural problem solver, someone who is naturally inquisitive and is detail orientated through the collection of information and ideas.

We are also looking for an effective communicator both verbally or written, has the natural ability to listen to understand others points of view and help position the need for change where appropriate (process orientated change and business improvement).

Lastly, we are also looking for someone who likes to challenge and takes it in their stride to be challenged.

This role will see you work in isolation and as part of a team.


CI Lead Consultant - Key requirements:

  • Project Management.
  • Core Management Skills.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Business Degree.
  • ITILv3 / ITIL4 Foundation level
  • Proven experience of delivering CI Projects.
  • Application of advanced CI / Lean / Six Sigma Tools i.e., DMAIC, FMEA, Hoshin Kanri.
  • Application of Microsoft Visio and Minitab software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to bring together diverse groups and understand the complexity, challenge and pressures on people working in different environment.
