Our Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Under Water Systems (UWS) business unit at Cheadle as an Engineering Technical Assistant.
As an Engineering Technical Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting Engineering development by undertaking administrative and technical tasks as part of the wider engineering team.
This role will be an integral part of the Engineering team supporting multiple activities; from bids, services and projects through to contract requirements, documentation governance, PALMA and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Willingness to learn and use Engineering Tools such as JIRA, DOORS and Windchill
- Willingness to learn and understand the Engineering development lifecycle and lifecycle products and support our product development as directed within the lifecycle.
- Support the Engineering Team with the execution of Test Specifications.
- Assist in the investigation of problems with the engineering documentation.
- Proactively engage with owners of actions, problem reports, change requests to ensure timely closure.
- Support the identification and updating of project Risks and opportunities that support the identification and updating of Engineering Lessons Learnt
About You

Ideally from a technical(engineering) background with experience in Administration.
Exceptional organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, plan your own time and communicate this to others:

Excellent proficiency in written English and arithmetic:

Has a sound ability to use and learn System Engineering tools:

Proficient in using computer and learning new software tools/technologies

Must be eligible to obtain Full SC clearance without restrictions:
- This role requires a problemsolving mindset and keenness to work both independently and collaboratively to find solutions. Excellent teamwork alongside an enthusiasm for technology and highquality deliverables is a must.
- A desire to continually learn and develop technical skills
- The ability to maintain quality of deliverables under multiple competing demands
- Ability to communicate simply to technical and nontechnical audiences
- Understanding of configuration control
- Has knowledge of project control using defined processes, including CHORUS
- Has an awareness of project plans
- The ability to take ownership and accountability for resolution of issues across a team and proactively engage with team members.
