DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The post holder will: - Support the delivery of the Clinical Outcomes and Data Strategy in conjunction with CO Director, Head of Analytics, Lead Analyst and Clinical Teams. Support the development of the Clinical Outcomes and Data Unit reporting agenda in conjunction with COU Director, Head of Analytics, Lead Analyst and Clinical Teams. Propose policy or service changes that impact the division, and other clinical areas across the trust. Provide expert advice on the best methodologies and approach for clinical services, data quality evaluation and reporting and outcomes analysis and reporting.


Take ownership for the monitoring and reporting of key data quality, clinical service and outcomes indicators, flagging any areas of concern and help investigate outliers and evidence of change Provide expert advice and guidance on the best use of data for research, clinical audits and service evaluation, being the go to person for knowledge around data related to clinical pathways and outcomes, advising on data quality and making recommendations on the best solutions, providing guidance and evidence to clinicians and senior managers on why the recommendations are the best actions to take.

Provide expertise around clinical data quality assurance, taking a lead on the development of tools for monitoring and reporting of data quality and ensure data users are informed on the suitability of different data sets for their requirements.

Undertake complex information requests and ad-hoc reporting relevant to specialist area as required by Lead Analyst to best practice agreed Be a key analytics resource for projects around service and outcomes improvements for clinical teams, supporting Service and Clinical Leads in Trust research and service/outcomes evaluation and improvement initiatives, in particular those that align to the Clinical Outcomes and Data Strategy.

Develop systems to collect and report data, providing expert analysis including statistical analysis, and be the go to contact for expert advice and interpretation of all aspects of clinical information reporting.


Work closely with colleagues in QICA and R&I as well as Digital Services, taking a lead in the regular undertaking of detailed and complex audits and surveys, establishing work plans and time management schedules.

Design and develop clinically relevant data reports and dashboards for clinical teams and senior management in line with Trust priorities, instigating adaptations and improvements as required.

Provide guidance to clinical teams on the Trusts information systems including Christie Data Insights Contribute to the work set out in the Clinical Outcomes and Data Strategy and attend COU and clinical team meetings as required.

Play a key role in the development of the Clinical Outcomes and Data Unit and Digital Services.

Produce high quality technical documentation Design and write highly complex business and analytics reports.

Represent Clinical Outcomes and Data Unit and Digital Services as the Digital Business Partner representing all aspects of the Digital Service as required.

Execute other duties appropriate to the skills and experience of the post holder which may be identified by the manager.

Take a proactive approach to developing own skills and experience Undertake line management duties as required including work allocation, attendance management, performance reviews and appraisals.


Promote a learning environment within the team and play a key role in the delivery of team training to ensure team objectives in relation to service delivery are achieved.

Support team members by providing support in achieving work objectives and learning; ensuring adherence to Trust policies and procedures. Demonstrate the agreed set of values and accountable for own attitude and behaviour. The post holder will be responsible for the direct day to day line management of Band 6 and Band 5 Analysts and, as required, contract staff, employed specifically on programmes and projects aligned to their area of responsibility to ensure a high standard of professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery key projects
