We are excited to announce an apprenticeship opportunity for an individual with a strong desire to kick-start their career in IT Supply Chain management.

As an IT Supply Chain Internal Support Apprentice, you will be trained and mentored to perform various tasks essential for the smooth operation of our IT Supply Chain.

This is a crucial role in ensuring we provide our customers with competitively priced products that are suitable to meet their requirements, whilst ensuring timely responses and a meticulous attention to detail.

This role includes responding to product inquiries from our internal sales teams, sourcing IT products and services, negotiating prices, processing purchase orders, performing product administration tasks, and handling other general purchasing duties.

We are seeking a confident and motivated individual with a passion for learning, strong communication skills, and a willingness and desire to grow in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

***Customer Inquiry Management:
  • Learn to respond promptly and professionally to inquiries requested from the internal sales teams regarding product availability, pricing, and order status
  • Engage and confidently communicate verbally, orally and face to face, with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Ensure solid attention to detail, whilst providing efficient and timely responses
  • Gain experience in providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues efficiently

Product Sourcing:

  • Receive training in researching and identifying reliable suppliers for IT products and components
  • Engage with appropriate supply chain partners to source suitable products and solutions that meet customer specifications
  • Source stock availability, negotiate pricing and delivery rates

Price Negotiation:

  • Learn negotiation techniques and strategies to negotiate prices and terms with suppliers
  • Support the sales staff in securing competitive pricing and favourable terms in order to 'win' the customers' business

Order Administration:

  • Gain handson experience in accurately placing orders with suppliers and coordinating with various departments
  • Assist in ensuring alignment of purchasing activities with organisational needs and priorities
  • Use multiple systems to administrate purchase orders and sales orders and ensuring there is a strong emphasis on attention to detail

Product Administration:

  • Learn to maintain accurate records of data, including stock levels, deliveries, and returns
  • Assist in updating product information in the company database and other relevant systems with a strong attention to accuracy
  • Provide key stakeholders with relevant and meaningful information relating to ongoing tasks

General Purchasing Duties:

  • Support the development and implementation of purchasing strategies and policies
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and assist in facilitating procurement activities
  • Undertake adhoc supply chain tasks that are issued from the Supply Chain management team
  • Work collaboratively with the Supply Chain Team and support other team members where necessary

The training you will be getting:

  • Procurement and Supply Chain Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship (CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate)
  • Apprentices will be required to produce work and build an eportfolio of evidence through blended learning which will include practical and written knowledge assessments which are carried out in the workplace
  • There will be an (EPA) end point assessment at the end of the apprenticeship
  • Live virtual classroom learning
  • Expected duration: 1824 months

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Desired Qualifications and Skills:


  • At least four GCSE (Grade 94 (A*C)) including Maths and English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and work effectively in a team environment
  • Administrative skills
  • Confidence in verbal and face to face communication

Additional Information:


  • This is a fixed term, fulltime role with 1 day a week allocated to the apprenticeship course/off the job training
  • The role will be a hybrid role, based at our modern central Birmingham office. Some homeworking will be accepted once you have demonstrated the ability to undertake the role without supervision
  • You will receive onthejob training and mentorship from experienced professionals in the field
