Careers in Children's Services

Lancashire is a place we're very proud of and we're proud of the role the county council plays in it too.

As the fourth largest local authority in the country and the largest in the North, we serve 1.2 million residents and deliver a wide range of innovative, successful services that really make a difference to people's lives.

The work we do can both challenging and rewarding at the same time.

To provide the best service to our children and families, and for this work to be rewarding, front line practitioners need a positive culture and effective support around them.

We are proud of the reflective, safe, healthy learning culture here in Lancashire, as well as the range of support for practitioners, particularly for staff starting out in their careers.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our Child Employment and Entertainment Team.

Child Employment and Entertainment Officers are responsible for carrying out licencing and enforcement of Child Employment Permits and Performance Licences and the interviewing, training and licencing of Approved Chaperones.

The team regularly inspects performance venues and undertakes employer site visits in line with their safeguarding duties.

The post is based at County Hall in Preston, however, the team covers work countywide and there are occasions when nationwide travel may be required.

The team also offers the ability to work from home, when attendance at an office is not required.

This is a part time post and the successful applicant will likely be required to work at the later end of the week, including Friday's, to meet the needs of the service.

You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use.

However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability.

Please ensure you have uploaded and attached your supporting statement to evidence how you meet the criteria for the role.

The panel may be unable to shortlist you for interview without this evidence.

In return Lancashire County Council offers a range of benefits, which can be found on LCC Vacancies website.
