We are currently seeking support workers to join our young people services team at Aspire-supported accommodation.

We need someone who is passionate about children's and young people's rights, and who is dedicated to building a brighter future for them.


A full UK driving licence and access to own transport is essential.


A Children & Young people Support Worker is responsible for assisting children and young people in their physical, emotional, social, and educational development.

They work to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children/Young people can thrive and reach their full potential.


Key Responsibilities:

Direct Care:
Provide direct care and supervision to children and young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and comfort.


Emotional Support:
Offer emotional support and guidance to children and young people facing challenging situations or emotional difficulties.


Education and Development:
Assist children & young people with homework, and educational activities, and encourage their cognitive and social development.


Safeguarding:
Support workers must ensure the welfare and safety of children and young people they interact with.


Health and Hygiene:
Ensure that children and young people maintain good personal hygiene and receive appropriate medical care when necessary.


Behaviour Management:
Implement behaviour management techniques to promote positive behaviour and discipline when required.


Communication:

Maintain open and effective communication with children and young people, their families, and colleagues to ensure the best care and support.


Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of each child's and young person's progress, incidents, and any relevant information.


Recreation and Activities:
Plan and organize recreational activities, games, and outings to promote social interaction and physical fitness.


Crisis Intervention:

Be prepared to handle emergency situations and crises, providing immediate assistance and reporting incidents to supervisors or authorities as necessary.


Teamwork:

Collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers, social workers, and therapists, to provide comprehensive care and support to children.


Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum experience of 6 months full-time in the last 3 years working with children and young people

Ideally holding an NVQ Level 2 Diploma in health and social care

The right to work in the UK

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Certification in CPR and first aid may be required.

Experience working with children, especially in childcare or youth services settings.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in the well-being of children.

Knowledge of child development and behaviour management techniques.


Salary:
£11.00-£12.00 per hour
