This is an excellent opportunity to work and contribute to decision making at the heart of the University by providing proactive and high-quality governance and policy support.

Governance in higher education refers to the way higher education institutions are formally organised and managed.

In short, governance arrangements identify who is responsible and accountable for setting the University's direction and for overseeing its operations.

As a Governance and Policy Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the people and processes which provide this accountability and oversight and will work closely with the Head of Governance and Deputy Secretary, the Vice Principal (Strategy and Governance) and University Secretary, and other senior officers of the University.

You will experience in supporting committees as well as writing policy and guidance documents.

You may have experience in compliance with the University's responsibilities under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation 2018, although we will provide opportunities for training and development in these specialist areas.

In addition, you will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be capable of working with a range of stakeholders and of working independently.
