What you will be doing

Patrolling Wandsworth Borough to identify contraventions of onstreet parking and controlled parking zones either solo or part of a team.
Using a handheld device, you will record and issue Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles parked in contravention.
Check that relevant road lines and parking signs are accurate and report defective lines and signs for repair or replace.
Engage with motorists who have their engines idling.
Be able to work 5 out of 7 days on a rota basis including weekends and bank holiday.
Working hours are between 7.00am pm

Our Civil Enforcement Officers are the eyes and ears of the local community, patrolling areas, providing advice to motorists, residents and members of the public, whist enforcing road traffic orders and issuing parking fines.

You will play a significant role in reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality through the enforcement of parking restrictions.

Your day will be spent, mostly outside, in all weathers, walking up to 8 miles per day, so please consider this before you apply.

You will be dealing with members of the public face to face, so customer service must be something you enjoy, sometimes in difficult situations.

You will be required to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday (including Bank Holidays). Shifts vary so flexibility for the role is essential.

The ability to use a handheld computer device and attention to detail for accurate recording of data.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people in an open and honest manner.
Ability to deal with difficult/stressful situations.
Be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
