Salary: £27000 pa

  • To assist with the Management of the Cumbria Consortium security Team to ensure that the operation meets all agreed regulatory, safety and performance standards, and meets clients expectations
  • To assist with the recruitment, motivation, development of the Security team. Ensuring that they are able to competently perform their activities
  • To ensure the contract / assignments within the scope of works are delivered as per the agreed specifications
  • To be first point of contact with officers for welfare and H&S procedures
  • To be first point of contact for typical HR related tasks such as return to work meetings for officers, absence and discplinary investigation meetings as required (not exhaustive)
  • To be proactive in accident investigations, incident investigations and deciplinary processes
  • To take responcibility and accountability for operational changes during silent hours
  • To have the ability and confidance to step in to the operations coordintors role in the event of Annual leave or Absence to eleiviate the pressures on the operations support manager and contracts manager

Main Duties

  • To liase with the operations coordinator for scheduling and training needs for all officers
  • To Supervise & Manage the deployment of the Security team to ensure that Sellafield, NDA and INS assets are protected at all times
  • To assist in ensuring that all Security team members are trained and assessed as being competent in the Security role
  • Ensure that the performance of the Security team is checked and audited as per schedules. Both during normal operational hours and silent hours
  • To ensure that areas of nonperformance are identified and reported to the operations coordinator, operations support manager and the contracts manager for investigation
  • To ensure that all security officers comply to the assignment Instructions
  • To carry out a minimum of two site visits during working and silent hours and that the appropriate documentation is completed for auditing purposes
  • Maintain and promote the reputation of the company, delieving the exceptional, every day
  • To assist in the conducting of staff appraisals in line with company policy (Mireviews)
  • To ensure that work safe, home safe, toolbox talks are carried out on all security officers and the correct documentation is completed within appropriate timescales
  • To complete monthly/weekly/daily administrative tasks as directed by contracts manager and operations support manager. This will be detailed with in the assignment instructions
  • Ensure regular welfare visits are carried out in contractors control room as directed by the Client, Contracts manager, operations support manager or the accounts Director
  • Work collaboratively with other MITIE personnel across Cumbria Consortium sites

Quality, Health, Safety and Environment

  • To ensure that a safety culture is promoted across the account team and to ensure all activities meet
    MITIE HSE best practice
  • To implement, manage and audit the schedule for Assignment Instructions / relevant documentation to ensure that risk assessments and method statements exist and are in date for all security activities
  • To implement a system to ensure that all staff are appropriately trained in safe systems of work and receive adequate PPE to conduct the role
  • Audit of the work performed by the security team to ensure compliance with H&S, SOPs and MITIE's BMS
  • Ensure your environmental responsibilities within your workplace are adhered to
  • Report all accidents and incident within the required time frame and Mitie H&S policies and procedures
  • To carry out detailed Accident investigations in line with MITIE policy

What we are looking for

  • IOSH Managing Safety Qualification (or ability to obtain qualification)
  • Full Current UK Driving licence
  • Hold valid SIA license
  • Willingness and desire to undertake further management training
